Socks Versus Sandals

From time Andy was 6 weeks old, sitting in the Honolulu airport, I have been teaching my son one of life's faux pas: Do Not Wear Socks and Sandals!

Tonight, he put that little bit of info into practice. Mike and I had dinner over at his parents house and yes, my father-in-law was wearing socks with his sandals. We were sitting in the living room having a nice time together as a family and I was giving my father-in-law a bad time about his choice of foot wear. Andy picked up on what I was saying and informed his grandpa that you don't wear socks with sandals. Andy then decided he needed to rectify the situation and proceeded to unvelcro the right sandal, remove grandpa's sock and put the sandal back on his foot. He then put the left foot on the ottoman, remove the sandal, tug at the offending left sock and assemble the sandal the way mom taught him. All the while mom, dad, and grandma are laughing so hard, tears are rolling down.

Andy finished off the activity by reminding grandpa that you don't wear socks with sandals, now it's time for ice cream.
