Preschool Parade

Andy wanted to be a king for Halloween this year, so with a little help from grandma's fabric stash, the royal king was crowned. Today at preschool he was the star of the day since mom was snack mom and thus the king was the line leader all day.
The king led his royal subjects to the fire station next door to the preschool where the children showed off their costumes to the firefighters.
Unfortunately, their time was short because the firefighters were called out of the station, but the kids enjoyed watching them suit up and drive away in the trucks.

Pumpkin Art

This past week Andy's preschool class had a field trip to one of the pumpkin patches in the area. We took a hay ride on a tractor out to the pumpkin field where the children were able to pick out a pumpkin. Teacher Ardis then had an event at school for the children and their dads to come decorate the pumpkins. Mike and Andy came home with the pumpkin decorated with vegetables and seemed to have had a good time together.

Once the vegetables had seen their time pass, it was time for a little jack-o-lantern carving. Andy gave dad instructions on how to carve the pumpkin and you can tell from the look on Andy's face that he had fun.

Vision

Here comes October and all of the doctor visits and copays. One of those visits is actually for Andy with his annual check-up to the eye doctor. I actually took both of the boys in so we hung out at the optometrist office for awhile. While Andy's left eye is making progress and becoming stronger, we are still going to be patching for at least a couple more months. I'm not sure why the last two months has worked more than in the past, but I'll take it.
Andy is being a trooper about hearing that he has to wear the patch for a couple more months and I'm really proud of him. We also endured the dilating of the eyes and of course it just happened to be sunny. My little vampires :)
Aaron had his annual check up as well and while his eyes are a little more far sighted than what is technically normal, he will not be fitted for eye wear as of now. He too had to have his eyes dilated and it was kinda funny watching him react and behave with dilated eyes.

Happy Birthday AJ!

Happy 2nd Birthday to Aaron!! I can't believe this little guy is another year old and has survived another year of his brother's love. I've included a couple of pictures from his first birthday and how he still enjoys doing the same activities.

Sitting on the counter snacking away on crackers in October of 2008.

"Mom, I want this one." At the pumpkin patch at Jubilee Farms in October of 2008.

Aaron has developed quite the love for all things motorized with wheels. He is working on his vocabulary, but in the meantime will inform you the type of vehicle by the sound of the motor or siren in the case of a firetruck. We will be driving along in the car and if Aaron sees a firetruck, he makes the siren sound, a motorcycle is the rumbling sound much like a Harley Davidson and your basic motor sound for all other cars.
He enjoyed riding the motorcycle ride at the Harley Davidson store in Anaheim, California this past September.

And yes, we still enjoy being on the counter only we have progressed to being able to climb by ourselves. I have two rugs in the kitchen which Aaron removes to the living room, moves a dining room chair over to the counter, climbs on said chair, then climbs onto counter and proceeds to open any cabinet door. He has found my gum stash which has now been depleted.

God has gifted Mike and I with such a little blessing. He may have begun showing his terrible two's, but we look forward to this year of growth for him. We love you little man!
