Day at Aunt Beth's
After one too many snow storms in the Pacific Northwest, Mike and I packed up the family including grandma and grandpa and headed south to the desert in search of sun and warmer temperatures. Mike has family that lives in the Phoenix area, so we usually cash in airline miles, rent a car and stay at great-grandma's. It's our cheap vacation for the year. One of the other members of the family that lives down south is Auntie Beth and Big Al, a.k.a. Grandma Barb's sister and her husband. Auntie Beth is also a grandma, so she has all sorts of fun toys. They also put in a pool since our last visit a year ago.
Aaron was so cute trying to drive the power quad. He would push the button, but wouldn't hold it down so it was start and stop. He also gave up on the shoes and had more fun being barefoot.
Andy and two of the second cousin's, two of Auntie Beth's grandchild, Caden and Kyla. They started the afternoon just splashing in the pool, but eventually got wet enough the boys stripped down to their skivvies and Kyla put on her swimming suit. They had so much fun together the entire afternoon and evening. It's nice for Andy to have some play mates that are close in age.
Aaron and grandpa looking over the pool fence, longingly wanting to join in the fun. He did get to play in the water. I left the shirt and hat on, but the shorts did come off. For the first time in the pool, Aaron had a lot of fun and was okay the two or three times he decided to face plant in the water.
After the adventures in the pool, the boys put on dry pants and proceeded to continue playing away. The little power jeep was being charged, so it was out of commission to drive, but the boys had fun pretending. Aaron conveniently found a place to stash his sippy cup. The funny part was how the two of them would fight over who sat in the driver seat. Flash forward 12 years....oh boy.....
