Feeding Ourself
I have to give my guys a little credit, they do love breakfast and are quite the hearty eaters. One morning we were having Cream of Wheat for breakfast and this morning, mom got it right. I know perfectly well how to make Cream of Wheat as I can read and follow directions from a box. My previous failure was the additional ingredients my oldest requires on his cereal. He learned from his time with grandma that you must have butter and cream with your Cream of Wheat. Mom has a little brown sugar, maple syrup (the real stuff) and cinnamon, Andy's is a pat of butter in the middle with milk and Aaron gets it however mom fixes his.
At fifteen months old, Aaron is quite adamant about feeding himself, and mom is fine with allowing this bit of independence. This usually means mom can eat her breakfast before it gets cold. Aaron was having such fun feeding himself, that I had to document it. It may mean a bit of clean up, but hot cream of wheat is so worth the mess.
