A New Year, A New Experience

Our day started out as a normal Sunday morning by attending worship service and Sunday school at Crossroads and chatting with friends. As we were leaving, some friends of ours invited us to head to Seattle for Chinese New Year. I was up for an adventure, so why not.

After we parked the car and headed to our friend's dad's jewelry store in the International District, the fireworks began and boy were they loud, so we retreated inside. Aaron is the one on the left in the gray hoodie with our friends Caleb and Matthew watching the festivities across the street.
Once the fireworks had ceased, our little group of ten headed to find some dim sum. No one in our family has ever had dim sum before and I wanted to go with someone who knew what they were ordering and fill us in on what we were eating. The boys had a lot of fun together playing with the water, chopsticks and just being boys.
I'm really glad to have such wonderful friends who are willing to share part of their culture and show some of us who grew up in the sticks what is out in the world.
