The Youngest Fan

I do believe we have the youngest fan at the Mariner's opening day game at Safeco Field. Jacob is ten days old today and it's been a few years since we have made it to opening day, so this year we bought tickets and took the boys to the Safe.
Of course, Aaron was so excited, I'm sure he peed in his diaper several times. He expressed vocally how excited he was that we were going to a baseball game. The entire ride on I-90 was Aaron stating, "baseball game, baseball game." When we arrived in Seattle and saw the stadium, his levels just rose and it's a good thing he was strapped down in his car seat or he might have jumped out of his seat. Once we finally parked and made our way into the stadium, the boys were just taking in all the sites, sounds and various events taking place.

Our seats were pretty good too, we were upper deck, but had the front row in the section, so Aaron stood the entire time. Andy went back and forth from standing to sitting and smothering Jacob when Jacob made an appearance out of the blanket.

Of course, one of the best parts of the game is the grounds crew dancing. It is a rare occasion when several of them come out to dance between innings. Usually happens on big games like opening day or when the Red Sox's or Yankee's are in town.

It was a bummer the M's lost the first home game, but I had two very excited boys that had a ton of fun and were asking when we were going back again. Lucky for them, we are going at least five more times and who knows, maybe more.
