Memorial Day Weekend 09
I thought I would share a few pictures from our Memorial Day weekend. Normally, any kind of national holiday usually brings rain in the Pacific Northwest, but this year, God decided to surprise us with a nice change of pace. It was sunny, warm and beautiful.
We started off the weekend with yard chores. I was in the front weeding our front yard and Mike was in the back mowing our grass. I had come into the house to get a couple of items and noticed Andy following dad with his mower. Such a sweet moment. Andy is also very good about staying out of Mike's way and a good distance behind him.
Later that evening, we had some family over for a BBQ dinner and the boys were rewarded with ice cream cones for eating their dinner. I was so happy to find sundae cones at the store without nuts. Aaron is under two and can not have nuts due to choking hazard and possible allergic reaction.
Monday is the unofficial start of summer and I was just blown away at how gorgeous the weather was. The boys were able to play outside as much as possible and Aaron would live outside if he could. Our deck is large enough for the boys to ride their toys and they had a fun morning pedaling, pushing and getting some much needed vitamin D.
We went over to grandma and grandpa's house for dinner Monday night and the boys were playing in the backyard just having a grand old time. Aaron is a little adventurer and you have to keep an eye out for him as grandma and grandpa's yard isn't fenced. He managed to find the watering can, put his mouth on the spout and proceed to make noises into the can. He thought it was great fun. Grandpa kept telling him that was yucky, but Aaron doesn't mind yuck, he was having too much fun. He's at that age where if he can elicit a response, he will try.
While Aaron was out roaming, I was out roaming with my camera taking shots of grandma's flowers. She has more sun than I do, so her yard is filled with azalea's, rhododendrons and her lilac bush is blooming for the first time this year. You can see the remainder of the flower pictures here.
